Braille Typeface

  • Kegan Greenfield
This typeface was designed with the partially sighted in mind. Often faced with the decision to learn either Braille or the English alphabet, this font allows the learning of both symbiotically.

The typeface is balanced throughout and crafted so each angle and stroke of the font are all directly related. The ideal size for this font is 56pt, which is most comfortable for experienced Braille readers, but this size can be increased to aid learning, which is the purpose it was designed for.
The font is also quickly accessible via mobile devices to aid learning Braille and the English alphabet. Whilst holding the phone in one hand, you swipe across the screen with your index finger, feeling haptic or vibration feedback (depending on device) when you touch one of the Braille dots. The sounds of each letter is also announced. An easy way to learn the Braille and English alphabet.
