Mushroom Research UK aims to produce carbon neutral, biodegradable using mushrooms and wood collected from sustainable forest management. The campaign aims to educate the public that the tree thinning process is not deforestation but is in fact a vital process that needs to be carried out so a woodland can live to its ultimate health and biodiversity. The wood collected from this process is normally sold as firewood which releases its locked away carbon into the atmosphere. Through our proposed process the wood would be used to create an alternative packaging to polystyrene which at the end of its life would biodegrade 100% naturally adding vital nutrients to the soil so the cycle can start again. 2020 Creative Conscience Award Winner

Profits generated from the scheme would feed back into sustainable forest management, education and further research into potential future uses of mushroom products such as eco friendly pesticides and medicines.
The illustrations that accompany the brand and publication are based off the structure of mycelium and the grains in wood.
Shining A Light On The Forest, is a publication that would be sent to businesses to encourage them to partner with us and use our sustainable packaging. The publication would also be used to educate the public on the need for sustainable forest management and normalise the use of mushroom products.
