Branding - Ándale Ándale

ándale! ándale! was a fast food Mexican restaurant in Kuala Lumpur, specialising in tacos and other forms of traditional Mexican street food, and was located at the prestigious Intermark complex. The brand’s requirements were to emphasise the vibrancy of Mexican cuisine, creating an image that would reflect some of Mexico’s traditional artwork in the process. The brand had to be close enough to real Mexican imagery so as not to be confused with a Tex-Mex restaurant, yet modern and easily identifiable as Mexican to those not familiar with tradional imagery. The illustrations created are inspired by the graphic decorations used on sugar skulls and depict objects associated with Mexican cuisine or landscape. The colour palette is warm and emulates that found in Mexican artisanal textiles.
