BrookesTV News Series 9 Ep01

  • Hannah Myers
As part of my degree I was a member of Brookes TV, a news channel that used youtube as its platform. Working with a team consisting of 9 other members, we put together a 25 minute live broadcast which has been made up of 7 news packages and a live interview with the Captain of the Oxford Brookes University Challenge Team.

My contribution to this broadcast was line producer to a news package looking at a recent exhibition at the Modern Art Oxford, called 'Love is Enough' which can be seen at 18:37 into the broadcast. Here I looked at the relationship between the works of Andy Warhol and the textiles by William Morris. This included writing a researching the story, helping sound and video to get the shots I wanted on location using a story board, and editing all footage in avid aswell as doing the voice over.

When preparing for the aired programme, I was part of a small team that created the running order and the script. But whilst we were broadcasting our live show, I was multitasking between running the prompt for the presenters to read from and displaying the graphics for the entire show.
