BUNGAY BUTTERCROSS COMMISSION

  • Amy Barker

This illustration of the Bungay Buttercross was commissioned for an article in the local luxury lifestyle magazine Eaux. The article was a guide to the places of interest in the old market town Bungay. The Buttercross sits centrally with in the town and has hosted the local food market since medieval times.

Process

I sketched the crossing from life, at different times of market day. This image was the final chosen, drawn in the afternoon once the bustle of the market was over, it really let the Buttercross structure itself take centre stage. I applied my sketch over a textured paper to add an artisan texture and coloured the scene using photoshop.
