CABIDELA

I wrote, shot and edited CABIDELA as an exercise under the theme "a change of heart". It is based on a typical Portuguese dish in which the chicken's blood is used as the sauce for the rice. It is also inspired by the current events happening in the United States and the world in general. During the events, a guitarist plays the riff of the song “Vampiros” by Zeca Afonso. He was the main Portuguese revolutionary singer that rebelled against the dictatorship in his country, from 1933 to 1974. “Vampiros” is one of the founding themes of the political singing in Portugal. It is an instrument of cultural and civic combat under times of censorship, where fundamental freedom is questioned.
