Calabash is the story of the first African World Cup, told through the eyes of four extraordinary characters. A Mexican fan attending his thirteenth consecutive World Cup leads us into the historic event while the three native South Africans prepare for his arrival to the temporary football mecca that is Soccer City Stadium. In the weeks before and during the tournament, each of the four characters provides glimpses into South African society during this historic window of time, as they chase their elusive World Cup dreams.
