Camden Encounters was a 12 month long public art commission for Camden Council on the occasion of the 50th anniversary since the formation of the Borough in its present form.

Through my own networks and those of the council, I conducted 'encounters' with 22 people from all walks of life, all ages, about memories they had in specific parts fo Camden. I called these memories 'sticky memories' - memories that stay no matter how much time passes, forever bound to a particular place.

I would meet my Encounters at the site of their memory, and, armed with an iPhone and Digital Camera, I would audio record them recounting their memories, and take their portrait at the same site. AT the end I would, under their direction, make a video of the place, to see whether traces of the memory could be seen, somehow..

I then edited and uploaded the digital photographic portrait, Audio and Video to the central project blog, via hosting platforms Vimeo and Soundcloud.

A live event and public talk took place at the Roundhouse in August 2015 and the project closed with a big event at Camden Town Hall at the end fo the year. The project will remain online for 5 years.
