Canberra Symphony Orchestra

Canberra Symphony Orchestra requested the redesign of their logo to attract new sponsors and investors. They had a pretty clear idea of what type of design they wanted: classic, up-to-date and elegant, even luxurious. The client’s understanding of what they wanted was very important and they allowed me to spend time trying out different ideas. Historically, the logo had utilised the CSO letterforms. When experimenting with a small piece of metal wire, I was able to bend and shape these letters in a tactile, physical object. The outcome was a simple, yet decorative and beautiful piece that ultimately inspired the new logo. To achieve the luxurious feel I decided to go for simplicity which shines: to print business cards on uncoated stock with a golden edge. I also show an alternative logo, which communicates the idea that symphony orchestra is all about celebration of music.
