CARMELITAS TYPEFACE

  • Marta Roca Creus
Carmelitas is a typographic creation project born out of the desire to bring past and present together. It is sans-serif typeface with calligraphy influences that is imbued with an air fed by lettering and italics. It is an old-style approach suited to the space with which it will interact. The size of the typeface tends to be condensed, as the information of the signposting takes up a small amount of space amid everything surrounding it. To emphasise the personality, a series of Alternate characters have been created as a distinctive and identifying point of the project. Its purpose will basically be that of a display typeface for signposting or large-scale posters.
