Music cover project at WAES
Frank Ocean music has very strong metaphoric side and as long as he is the my favourite artist of this genre, his hit “Nikes” was must picked for this project. Within this project I drawn into deeper meaning of this song and his newest album “Boys Don’t cry”, better known as “Blond”. Frank Ocean mainly discuss about nowadays biggest problems - consumerism, materialism and greed, I have chosen glitter as metaphorical object for the whole cover. “Nikes” Cd jewel case is divided in three parts : cover, booklet and main cd case.

On the cover - Frank Ocean’s face illustration which is made with a scanner darkly technique. Little blue dots on the face are “glitter”.
As long as lyrics and it meaning are the main thing of this song, I have decided to make booklet with all lyrics, some highlighted sentences and glitter illustrations.
And the main cd case which is fulfilled with real glitter and the main idea is that glitter as materialism looks beautiful and desirable, but whenever you got into it, it is hard to get out the same ( glitter goes on you and hardly leaves without your help )
