Ceiling is part of a series of works that attempt to redefine a given space. In this instance I have lowered the height of the ceiling to just under 6ft, and skimmed with a fine layer of concrete. The ceiling leaves a fine 1inch gap around the edge of the room to help illuminate the space. The visitors to the space, upon approach are able to witness how the ceiling is suspended, and spend time underneath,
The compression of the space, coupled with the darkness and stillness that has been created results in a variety of different responses from the public. From people unwilling to go to the end of the room, to others laying on the floor staring at the patterns in the concrete, this spacial experiment endeavours to question and explore what any given space is and can be.
