Like shiny, bright, sweet wrappers, my childhood felt warm, safe, full of rainbows. Although my little brother could be annoying, we had an unbreakable bond, a bond that would silently hover at the top of the stairs that night as we listened, frightened by Papa and Uncle's urgent whispers. Mirrored by the tic-tocking clock and mother's muffled tears, an echo of what would come. Now, cold, lost, hopeless, lifted up like a piece of beating meat, I cling onto those fractured memories of familiar faces found in a mirror, searching for the Stolen Unbroken Bond, that Is my Brother.
