Adults of the Future is a Fashion Documentary book and film project born in 2015. A body of work aiming to articulate a contemporary vision of youth, by understanding what today’s generation’s processes of becoming adults are.
The first Volume of the series Chavos was shot in Mexico City where the photographer is originally from. The title was taken from a Mexican “slang” expression to denominate young individuals. For this project, the most characteristic Mexican “non-professional” models were selected via “cyber-casting”.
These individuals demonstrated by embracing their age and culture, through different behaviours involving digital media, sexuality and creativity, to be part of the future shifting and shaping of their nation. As we contemplate these Chavos growing, we gasp a youth eager to break with stereotypes.
