Clusta: UX Review

Clusta is building a web app that enables people to brainstorm collaboratively in a social and business setting.
Before moving on to development they want to make sure the design and user experience of their initial prototype is fit for purpose.
Before looking at the interface I did a workshop with the core team to better understand the goals users are trying to achieve.
As a user I would like to see what other people think about the subjects i’m interested in so that I can learn more from like minded people.
One of the main challenges users ran into was Clusta being too exploratory, often finding themselves with no idea how to navigate back to other ‘sparks’ and ‘thoughts’ they have interacted with. Users also found the interface to be a bit too minimal at times with a lot of assumptions built into the design.
After presenting my findings the interface went through another round of iteration to address the user’s concerns, this then went onto become an open BETA that users could give feedback on while developing the platform further.
