Colour Me Curious

Colour. It affect humans physically and emotionally. It reflects people's religious and spiritual needs and cultural and socio-economic backgrounds. Colour awakens emotional responses related to past experiences in every human, consciously or subconsciously. Colour has innumerable applications. Colour is ubiquitous.

This forms the base concept of my designs. Titled Grey (Rocking Lounger) and Copper (Floor Lamp), the two products were chosen quite by accident and after the colours were first decided upon.

Colour is the first, most immediate feature that a user sees, responds to and interacts with. The starting point of the products was a colour; completely reversing the traditionally followed design process. My project has gradually evolved from the direct use of highly visible colours to respecting the inherent colour of the material and translating this into an integral part of the aesthetic appeal.
