COMMERCIAL DENIM AND KNIT DESIGN // ANDROGYNOUS DENIM SS 2014 // BY FRANCES PAULS

My Androgynous Denim collection was put together for a second year college project in 2013. The story creates a commercial denim collection under the trend 'Androgynous Denim with Collegiate Printed Knits SS 2014". The story includes a trend board, a fully illustrated pack of technical drawing flats, a story board, hair and styling boards as well as photographs of my realized boyfriend jeans.

The collection was inspired by muses Alexa Chung and Andrej Pejic. The garments are chic-street, sophisticated and call for no-gender styling.

I wanted the collection to have a raw denim on denim feel, therefore the main design element that I used across the collection, was the paneling and blocking of differently coloured and washed denim within one garment. The geometric angles of the panels and the off center placement of shapes, creates a modern and fresh denim feel.
