Concept Cover for 'Queens of Infamy'

  • Jess Goodhew

On Longreads.com you will find a collection of educational and historical short stories on the notorious to the half-forgotten ‘Queens of Infamy’ written by Anne Thériault. I believe that these stories would make a great book that readers of all ages would find fascinating, so I designed a concept for a book cover as if this was a real brief. Each symbol reflects the key themes and events that continuously pop up in each story: marriage, death and the struggle for power and the throne. The colour choices of the icons and text surrounded by foiled rose gold swirls represents the strong roles of the feminine Queens in a modern, bold and striking design. I hope that one day in the future this series becomes a reality so that others can learn about the incredible lives of these women.
