ACTIVATION
The Storm Centre is activated when a storm or disaster event is approaching. It will be announced on the Ergon Energy gateway page as per the current emergency area, although a small re-design will be required.
Within the Storm Centre it's possible to have multiple Storm Centre HQs, each with a unique hashtag (#TC).
Ergon Energy followers and visitors to a Storm Centre HQ will also promote it on their own social media pages via contribution or sharing.
We can also see a place for a Storm Centre HQ to be active at all times as a platform to promote storm preparation with users sharing their own efforts. This keeps the conversation alive when there isn't an approaching storm or disaster event, creates familiarity for visitors and remains at the forefront of their minds when it is activated.
FOUR CORE GOALS
1. Give the Ergon Energy brand the space to lead and be involved in online conversations during disasters
2. Elevate Ergon Energy to the trusted advisor and consumer source of updates and information during a disaster
3. Foster community engagement
4. Deliver a place for aggregated crowd sourced content and Ergon Energy official content - a mix of video, photos and posts.
The information on the Storm Centre HQ is ordered with the goals in mind, creating a vertical hierarchy.
