Cooking in Brexit

Cooking in Brexit is a cooking book with foreign recipes made entirely with British ingredients. The recipes, written by the Ukip supporter chef John Brand, want to confirm that, even if British cuisine is highly influenced by food cultures that come from outside the UK, Brits do not need any other culture to survive. So be ready to cook tasty British meals such as a roast beef kebab, spaghetti made out of parsnips and pizza topped with gherkins. The book and the character of John Brand are a provocation towards the events of Brexit, it wants to highlight a problem in a sarcastic, funny and absurd way. The design of the book is inspired by old British cooking books such as the Sainsbury’s cooking book series, in order to give it that nostalgia look, so the reader can remember “when things were better”.
