Cosmic Ancestry

HD Video, sound, 2 min 6 sec., Digital Animation, Video Projection, Edition of 5 +2 AP Cosmic Ancestry is a large-scale site specific immersive video projection that was inspired by the theory that genetic material from space seeded the earth. It explores abstractly questions of origin, consciousness and mortality. White lines of light morph and evolve projected on perpendicular walls engulfing viewer. The projected light at times plays over them, casting shadows on the wall and making them part of the piece. The lines perform abstractly the origin and circle of life; birth, separation, death and rebirth. The work was digitally drawn frame-by frame with each element animated to sync to found sound. The short audio visual segments were then composed to form visual music.
