Courgette 2000

  • Lydia Hunt
It was the year 2017, the courgette crisis was threatening to continue for months and shoppers were not coping well with the shortage. This encouraged the panicked public to turn towards the Society of Endangered Vegetables. An enthused a team of Courgateers invented an alchemist object pushing the boundaries of science, creating a process for turning gold into courgettes, named the CORE-JET 2000. The launch of this machine was a hundred years later in February 2117, at the annual Goldsmiths Para-physical Conference.
Through drawing and splicing protein sequences from courgette DNA they were able to programme this into the CORE-JET 2000. Inside the CORE-JET 2000 the process was carefully calculated which systematically analysed gene regulation. Gold was fed in one side, the correct input to output dial ratio set then exiting the machine would be a perfect 2017 courgette. This was a revolution to the once courgetteless world.
