As part of 'Dystopian Narratives' Late at Tate Britain, CPF Inc. was a commissioned piece in response to 'The Deluge' - a painting by Jacob More. CPF Inc. was an animation aiming to highlight the subjectivity and bias of predictive algorithms that impact most of our digital experience. It imagined a corporation that relies entirely on these algorithms to provide an (albeit useless) fortune telling service. This fortune telling service came in the form of a watery reflective space for each viewer to gaze into, with distorted symbols and shapes presenting themselves over time. With each viewer projecting their own ideas of what they see onto the shapes, this manifested into their own subjective interpretation of what the symbols could mean, creating a personalised experience for everyone.
