I founded, directed and produced the PHD Festival which launched in London in November 2013. PHD celebrates and educates the origins and evolution of original street dances and Hip-Hop culture, providing dancers, artists and enthusiasts with the opportunity to take part in a range of engaging activities. These include dance workshops with world renowned pioneers, panel discussions, film screenings, performances, art exhibitions, dance battles, freestyle jams and networking opportunities. This social enterprise aims to bridge the gap between different cultures, unifying wider communities through education, collaboration and entertainment. My role entailed: developing a timeline business plan, managing the festival budget, sourcing sponsors, festival partners and contracts with trade companies, networking, programming UK and International artists, sourcing venue space, managing the creative team and artists, handling sales, marketing and general administrative work and managing on all event days.
