Crescendo

  • Viviane Leezer

This music video is the end result of my research into synesthesia and how you can visualize music. Duo Bottasso is a duo consisting of Simone Bottasso and Nicolò Bottasso. They play Italian folk music, modernized with jazz and improvisation. Because Duo Bottasso consists of two brothers, their youth is often a central theme in their music. The louder the music in the song "Crescendo" becomes symbolizes how the brothers grew up together. Crescendo is an Italian musical term (derived from the Italian for crescere, grow) for Dynamics notation that indicates that in a given passage the sound gradually grows louder. "THE GRADUATES 2014" EXHIBITION
This project was exhibited at the 2014 WDKA Exhibition "The Graduates 2014" in Roodkapje at ROTTERDAM, Graduation Illustration (BA) exhibition.
'TRAVELERS ON THE EARTH' EXHIBITION
It was also exhibited at the 2014 International groups exhibition 'Travelers on the Earth' at the United Art Museum in Wuhan, China. They extended the show with three weeks. In total approx. 20.000 people came by to see it.
"DAYBREAK" EXHIBITION AND FURTHER SUCCESS
The 'Travelers on the Earth' exhibition was then renamed "Daybreak" and exhibited in 2015 at The Creative Art Center, a new contemporary art centre in Wuhan, China. "Daybreak" was it's first exhibition. More than 150 art students attended the conference, and more than 1000 people came to the opening of the show.
Due to the success of the exhibition "Daybreak" aka "Travelers of the Earth" the whole exhibition was then transferred to The Hubei Museum of Art in Wuhan, China in 2015. This museum is one of the most important museums in its region and during Belgium's King's & Queen's seventh state visit to China, the Queen visited the exhibition.
