CRISIS / MAH + GMD

Charity Promotional Collaborative Project / This brief was a four week live project working with the homelessness charity ‘Crisis’ and the organisation ‘Musicians Against Homelessness’. The aim of this project was to promote the Crisis / MAH + GMD event on 16.02.17, produce dynamic performance visuals to communicate the reality of homelessness and debunk myths and misconceptions. The first part of the brief required us to produce A1 event posters, printed promotional items + corresponding digital promotional collateral. Our approach to the brief used the main medium of photography as we made our own paper mache letters to reflect the ‘street’ theme and photographed several locations where one might come across homelessness to emphasise the conditions one lives in. Since the posters were also promoting a gig event we needed to ensure that they also reflected a positive vibe. The second part of the brief were posters and / or printed items communicating statistical facts concerning homelessness in London. The concept behind this was using these paper mache letters to represent 3,569 individuals living rough on the street each night across England and creating words and statistics to highlight the most important facts and figures.
