Crossing The Bridge short film for adidas

Directed by Sophia Ray, whose previous work with singer Lily Allen won her a VMA, the film unites five female runners to explore what running means to women in London today, along with the life-changing transformations community running can bring. The film takes inspiration from the incredible story of a woman named Florence Ilott. Back in 1934, 20-year-old Florence worked in the tea rooms at the House of Commons and kept her amateur running ambitions private. But after discovering a long-standing tradition amongst MPs to attempt to run across Westminster Bridge before Big Ben chimed 12 (that's 353 metres in around 50 seconds), Florence took it upon herself to have a go. Incredibly, she became the first person to ever achieve it. Drawing upon Florence’s passion, courage and determination, the adidas short follows a group of modern women who are rejecting the status quo and using running to overcome adversity.
