Crown Paints Application

Crown Paints, the No.2 in the UK Paint market, recognised that their brand needed to be more aggressive in order to grow its share. We took this challenge and sought to redefine the role that Crown paints plays in home decoration and in peoples lives.

This application allows the user to connect their device to their desktop browser NodeJS via WebSockets.

The WebSocket specification defines an API establishing "socket" connections between a web browser and a server. In plain words: There is an persistent connection between the client and the server and both parties can start sending data at any time. It enables a mobile device via its browser to connect and transmit information to a desktop browser. Essentially allowing the two devices to have a two-way conversation. This allows a user to connect and interact with a element on a desktop browser using a mobile device such as a iPhone, Android device, as a remote control.

Once the devices are synced, the user is able to create artwork using colours from Crown's extensive range of colours and send the art to print to be made into a canvas print for their home.

This application design for Crown Paints is to coincide with the Make A Splash campaign and the Through The Keyhole TV sponsorship.
