Curiously Satisfying

Curiosity kills the cat while satisfaction brings it back. An old proverb which explains that the dangers that are born by the curiosity of the human mind, can only be resolved by its satisfaction. The lessons learnt are the only teachings to satisfy this curiosity. The illustrations are thus based on the ‘Curious’ nature of the human mind. The dying one - eyed cat symbolises the curiosity of the man on one hand while the bird on the other hand symbolises the satisfaction of this ‘Curiosity’ by natural elements. Thus a balance is struck between the ‘Curiosity’ and its ‘Satisfaction’. Ideation and concept development followed by manual sketching was carried out. It was then computerised and set for the final design. The 50s style of illustration is used to create bold, eye - catching graphics with simplicity, a genre of Pop Art. And that is how this project came about.
