Bringing the very latest selection of Danish design to the London Design Fair 2019

Denmark’s rich design heritage dates back to the mid-20th century, where designers such as Hans Wegner and Arne Jacobsen emerged, combining advanced technologies with ideas of simplicity and functionalism to design buildings, furniture and accessories. The design reflects the Nordic environment and climate often using sustainable, locally sourced materials mixed with old craft traditions of silverware, ceramics, etc. Combined with a dose of hygge, the unique Danish design traditions will be brought to life at London Design Fair 2019. Danish Living is more than just a showroom, it is a place for everyone to relax, enjoy a drink and get inspired by the stylish Danish way of living.

”We are proud to yet again have a strong Danish footprint with our official country pavilion Danish Living at the London Design Fair’s 2019 edition. The selected pieces showcased embody Danish values such as sustainability, functionality and playfulness. In that way, they keep a long, beautiful tradition alive.”  Mr. Lars Thuesen, Ambassador of Denmark to the UK
By Thornam is a design lab founded by head designer Mads Thornam: “In Denmark, we have a proud design heritage that has spawned some of the greatest classics in the world. We are renowned for our craftsmanship, our attention to detail and our unique Scandinavian look, but I have missed alternatives that add new perspectives to Danish design and that excites all your senses, opens your creative mind whilst at the same time challenging ‘normality’.

Moebe's products are designed with modularity in mind, they are component-based and can be repaired, assembled and recycled with ease. The company strives to reduce our designs to their most simple forms. Developing new details and techniques for bringing different materials and elements together without simply the use of glue or welds.

Founded in 2011, NORR11 is a Danish furniture brand that strives to reinvent and rethink Scandinavian design to create timeless pieces of furniture, combining the past and the present. Collaborating with innovative young designers and working with the best manufacturers and suppliers they produce products of superb craftsmanship and quality.

Established in 1943 Le Klint dates back to the beginning of the 20th century, when a hand-pleated lamp shade was folded to fit a paraffin lamp both designed by architect and master of engineering P.V. Jensen-Klint. To this day they have maintained their original concept whilst developing the design for a modern market, working with contemporary designers to realise their products.
