David Harriman

David was born in Leeds in 1966. His father introduced him to
photography at the age of eleven when they found some old processing equipment in the attic. A makeshift darkroom was built and by his early teens David had become a proficient black and white printer and budding
photographer.

After leaving school at 18 David decided to go directly into working in commercial photography, assisting established photographers for 6 years.

He gained representation in London in 1993 and soon went on to be
represented in New York and Paris working extensively on location based commissions.

He has been recipient of many industry awards including D&AD, Campaign Press & Poster Awards, The Association of Photographers, Cannes Lions, Epica, Creative Circle, Communication Arts, New York Photo Awards, Clios, Creative Review Annual and The One Show.

In 2008 & 2010 David was listed in Campaign magazine as one of the top ten photographers working in advertising.

David has had images exhibited on several occasions in the National Portrait Gallery as part of the John Kobal, Schweppes and Taylor Wessing Portrait awards.

Alongside his commercial career David has entered into several long-term personal projects. One such project has been to document the US/Mexico border over a period of ten years.

He is also completing his first long form documentary.
