Bedside diffuser of pig whipworm eggs for continuous infestation. Infestation with that worm allows to modulate immune system and treat autoimmune disorders.
The hygiene hypothesis proves the lack of exposure to certain parasites suppresses the correct development of the immune system. This can be observed in the rise of autoimmune disorders in western countries. Clinical trials demonstrated ingesting parasitic pig whipworm could treat these ailments.
Disgust is not the realm of product design, but this aversive emotion always bears the imprint of desire and can map out new intellectual territories for design. This project investigates disgust as a means of providing complex aesthetic experience.
