I was immediately drawn to Santoma’s work. His use of colour and geometry is so striking and creates space with such drama. I began to explore the possibility of using his interiors as stages. I created theatrical narratives for each space; four chapters of a journey. Using his interiors and furniture as the set, we enter Santoma’s world above an icy lake. We follow misty pools, glowing lights and suspended figures before exiting into the desert beyond the stairs.
