Digital Landscapes

  • Marianne Thomas

A proposal for an interactive exhibition where nature is deconstructed through digital processes to create futuristic, digital landscapes. Inspired by Google Earth’s uncanny render of nature, Digital Landscapes explores the intersection between the natural and digital worlds. Images taken from the satellite program and scans of real plants are digitally manipulated beyond recognition as a way of critiquing human detachment from nature. New landscapes are reconstructed to represent a proposal for the exciting potentials of future human-nature interaction.
