Dinosaur Roar app

Dinosaur Roar is a children’s book written and illustrated by Paul and Henrietta Stickland. The book has sold over 5 million copies worldwide and has been translated into more than 30 languages. I was tasked to create puppets with the original paintings from the book and animate them. To prepare each painting for animating, I had to work out what movements each dinosaur would do then cut them into the relevant pieces required, the toughest part of the task was matching the water colour style of Paul Strickland so if, for example, an arm moved there was a continuation of the pattern underneath that didn’t exist on the original flat image.
I then animated all of the dinosaurs using Flash and sent them to the development team as png sequences to go into the app.
On May 7th 2014 this app made it into The Guardians top 20 new apps, please follow this link for small write up ( proud face)
