Written on 22 March 2020. Typing is fatiguing due to my physical disability but I write this as I needed to share this with my disabled family right now.

Open Letter To The Disabled Community (Seen and Unseen, with Visible and Invisible Disabilities) Across The World:
Dear Disabled Sisters and Brothers Everywhere,
For you, I will not be silent. In light of the current COVID-19 health crisis in the world, as you’re a part of my global disability family, I am reaching out and checking in with you.
As a disabled wheelchair user with a Neuromuscular condition myself, I can empathise with all our anxiety, fear, isolation, and added internalised ableism in this scary time. I may not be able to do much to help physically, but I just wanted to send you all my well wishes, sunshine, good vibes, positive energy, melanin magic, sequins, healing, and love your way.
That said…
You are alright. You are doing fantastic, but health must come first. Just take ONE BREATH AT A TIME. NORMALITY IS A CROWD-SOURCED FANTASY
I’m ALWAYS here for you as well. Just buzz when you need me. I hear you, I see you, I feel you, and I got you.
Here’s to more awesome adventures together for many years to come!
As the #Ashanti #proverb (#Ghana) best goes: “Do not follow the path. Go where there is no path to begin the trail.”
I’m just writing to say thank you. Thank you for your ongoing support, kindness, and friendship. Thank you for everything. Thank you for being you.
#ONWARDSandUPWARDS.
Have a blessed and restful week!
Stay safe (and well) and speak soon.
Much love always,
Sulaiman X
