DISKO-19

We, I ME CE, as an independent art platform whose projects are based on the method of "imece" which is a Turkish custom where participants pitch in to help one another in a communal spirit. Inspired by this tradition, I ME CE creates concepts, develops ideas, brings artists together and supports the creative processes of art to function without any obstacles. The DISKO-19 exhibition, held in October 2020, I ME CE began creating a series of collaboratively designed scenes by fictionalizing the concerns and issues of daily life. DISKO-19 was a subjective normalization proposal envisaged by I ME CE and artists Elçin Arpaçay, Merve Heper and Emine Sandal. Separated illustrations of figures were made and later brought together on the digital canvas creating the “disco” stage with pandemics constraints. After the exhibition, a limited edition of 100 scarves were produced, in which the collaborative image of the three artists was printed on the scarves. We still have 50 scarves in our stock. We would like to sell these scarves in cooperation with who is interested.
