Can the Past and the Present Create a Future for Letterpress?
Letterpress was the beginning for graphic designers. Now, letterpress can also be their future. It is always important to know the history in order to create something new. I was curious to know what new I could get out of letterpress using the new technology of 3D printing. I have not focused on the typeface but the texture and pattern of the letters and numbers. I designed a pattern which consists of very thin stripes. These stripes represent the feel of the 3D printed object’s texture.
Programs used:
Adobe Illustrator, Autodesk 3Ds Max, Adobe Indesign
