ANTHONY HAS CLOCKED UP AN IMPRESSIVE LIST OF ACTING/WRITING AND DIRECTING CREDITS IN JUST A FEW SHORT YEARS! – DIGITAL FILMMAKER MAGAZINE
Distortion Entertainment has been present at over four major film festivals including Cannes, Venice and Berlin. We have produced theatre, film and now branching into workshops with the newly formed production company Distortion Actors which has attracted some of the world’s best Casting Directors. We believe in producing risk taking independent films and also to be bold and fearless in our productions. We also believe in working and showcasing up and coming diverse talent.
Distortion Entertainment was formed by award nominated director actor and producer Anthony Vander. Anthony is currently working on his latest film The Tutor (as writer/director). The film is currently being produced under Distortion Entertainment along with British production company Film Engine. It has already gathered a fan base internationally due to its successful social media campaign.
In 2012 our debut short film Hooligan was selected for The Short Film Corner at Cannes Film Festival. In 2014 our debut feature film Sweetboy had its premiere at The British Film Institute and World Premiere at The American Black Film Festival (Official Selection), and continues to screen worldwide at major international film festivals. In May 2016 Sweetboy had its UK Television debut screening on London Live.
In February 2017 we released our show Casting Directors a mockumentary comedy web series based around the world of the actors auditions and casting. In April 2017 we wrapped production on our 100 percent crowdfunded feature film Scales which is directed by award winning filmmaker Nathan Hannawin. Nathan directed his first feature documentary, Sleafords Mods – Invisible Britain whilst in his second year of university. Only possible through crowd funding, where over 80% of projects do not meet their target, Sleaford Mods – Invisible Britain achieved over 3 times its asking amount and has gone on to receive over 80 screenings in the UK & Ireland.
