‘Diversity is the real beauty, the new non-ideal ideal in the fashion world’. The use of different objects and materials emphasizes this notion and its importance. Different people have different personalities, different body shapes, different characteristics. The fact that the girls are showing the back side of their bodies is my own reaction towards the negative messages the media industry is forcing us to believe in terms of the ideals of beauty. People and especially women are constantly getting objectified for the sake of inanimate clothes and products. Hence, I am against the idea of this devious mirror that both media and fashion industry are attempting to impose in our lives, since they make us feel insecure and depressed about our appearance and body. The girls in the pictures took the decision to make peace with their own mirror, their own reflection, their own bodies, their own personalities.
