Do you know what parts make up an engine?

  • Franky Rochetich
To understand what parts make up an engine, this piece will discuss all its main parts and the role that each part performs in the overall operation of a car engine. An engine is made up of many different parts that work together to produce power. These parts can be broken down into four main categories: the engine block, the cylinder head, the piston, and the crankshaft.

The engine block is where all of the engine's major components are housed. This includes the fuel injectors, the spark plugs, and the carburetor. The cylinder head contains all of the valves that control how air and fuel mixture enters and leaves the cylinders. The piston is what actually makes the engine generate power by moving back and forth inside the cylinder. And finally, the crankshaft transmits power to those cylinders via a chain or gear system.
