What if Dolly Parton had never made it as a country star but had instead moved to south London and set up a hair salon.
My project is a printed textile design exploring the characters and surroundings of a fictional 'Dolly's Salon'
inspired by the dated hair and nail salons of streatham high road, 1960s cosmetology books, the process of bleaching my own hair and the one and only, my idol Dolly Parton, I created a collection of hand drawn digital print designs and screen prints including flitter and pigment printed samples.
A 6 piece collection was shown at Premiere vision, February 2014
