Domestic Violence Exhibition (Video Case Study)

  • Virtyt Pula

A street exhibition against domestic violence in Kosovo. Campaign Slogan/Message: "Dhuna nuk fshehet mrena mureve" (ALB) "Violence should not be hidden behind walls." (ENG) ___ In Kosovo, #DomesticViolence often remains hidden behind the walls of the home. As a result, many victims are afraid to report violence, and the rest have little understanding or lack of trust in the institutions. Kosova Women's Network have gathered shocking stories and statistics of women and men who suffered from domestic violence in Kosovo. PART 1 — BEHIND THE WALLS TOML designed and built a room/maze in the main square of Prishtina, resembling a home where domestic violence occurs most. Through a #ShortFilm, #SetDesign, #SoundDesign, and other #InteractiveMaterials, visitors experienced a glimpse of a violent home and heard real stories of people who suffered from #DomesticAbuse. PART 2 — THE FOUNDATION WALLS Upon exiting from this maze, visitors came across installations, which provided detailed information about the roles and responsibilities of each institution, as well as visual guidance on how to report concerns if any of these institutions fail to help. Some women* asked for help on the first day of the exhibition. *The #exhibition is currently going to 5 other cities. We will publish the accurate numbers and reports at the end of the campaign. ____ Many thanks to our lovely team: Creative Director/Concept: Virtyt Pula Graphic Designer: Nertil Muhaxhiri Music & Sound Design: Tomor Kuçi Film Director: Ilir Hasanaj Set Designer: Burim Berisha Photography: Luke Braswell Sound Installation: Dren Suldashi ..and many more.
