Echo and Narcissus

  • Elizabeth Fleur Willis
Elizabeth uses fiction as a mode of discovery, drawing the audience to contemplate a fictional world parallel to their own. Through tableau, the artist seeks to reflect an element of the way life is experienced; interconnectivity in the digital age. Echo and Narcissus echo's the composition in the J W Waterhouse painting of the original myth, while adding a modern twist. The aim of the piece is to touch on contemporary social issues, helping to transform habitual thought into awareness.
The project is currently being expanded into a printed art book, in collaboration with author Benedict Smith.
