EDITORIAL BEYOND THE PAGE - KEN GARLAND AUGMENTED REALITY MANIFESTO

In this task, we worked with Augmented Reality! By using a specific smartphone app called 'Artivive' and holding a phone to a high quality image of my double page spread, a hidden layer is revealed that can only be viewed through the app. The double page spread was created to honour the manifesto and beliefs of Graphic Designer, Ken Garland, who believed that designers shouldn't waste time on anything that wouldn't help to improve the world in some way. He argued that using design to sell meaningless products should not be desirable and should not be something we, as a future generation of designers, should settle for.
