My work explores ego. Some pieces explore the unique personality of individuals that are kept secret and hidden. Some pieces explore unique viewpoints and perspectives of the world. I have used a range of materials to express my ideas and concepts from glass, beads, and resin to silver. Red is significant because it is a primary colour that provides a common reaction in humans due its relationship to blood and life. It is a colour that I find energising; It makes me feel alive. I was originally drawn to Kitsch due to sentimentality it is vibrant, repetitive and colourful however, my work is the opposite of Kitsch because it intends to have a meaning that lives beyond a moment in history. It does however embrace the aesthetic characteristic of this idea.
