Egypt and Mesopotamia Open Museum 2017

The first of an annual series organised in collaboration with the University of Cambridge, the Royal Asiatic Society, and the British Museum - the Open Days and Conference aim to introduce a group of 50 academically promising 6th form students to the worlds of ancient Egypt and Mesopotamia, as well as the Universities where these subjects are offered (Cambridge, Oxford, Liverpool, Cardiff, Swansea, UCL, Durham and SOAS).
Talented undergraduates and Masters students with a proven background in museum Education were recruited to give talks and host tours in the Egyptian Museum - the day concluded with a panel Q&A for prospective students, by current ones.
After the event, 93 per cent of respondents said the day had made them more likely to study Egypt and Mesopotamia at university.
