"Fairy Godmother" ("Cinderella")

  • Chiara Bet
In my own take on the classic story of Cinderella, the Fairy Godmother appears in the shape of a fabulous creature, a union of a Goat (typically used in representations of the Devil) and a Spider. The Fairy Godmother is here producing her own silk from her spinnerets - then several spiders meticulously thread the fabric, by working the threads between horns and back. Whilst Cinderella obediently (obediently..) sits, the Fairy arranges her hair in pretty curls, whilst fitting and knitting the silk over the fair maiden's naked body.
