FALL 2019 RUNWAY EDIT: THE CONTEMPORARY KNIT

  • ANGELA BAIDOO

The humble knit, once considered an artisan craft has been prolific on the Fall ‘19 runways. Although what was presented, from New York to Paris, were re-imagined and deconstructed versions. Whether it was a layered, twisted midi dress at Daniel Lee’s debut for Bottega Veneta or an angled contrast yoke with ring hardware embellishment at Burberry. Fall 2019 is set to be one where designers, retailers, and brands can experiment with knitwear, creating statement stand-alone or layering pieces that can be worn throughout the season.
