Festival of the Desert

In the period called The Scramble for Africa, European colonialism forced the Tuareg people to change to their culture and daily lives. Resulting in oppression and resource exploitation. Channelling their frustration and suffering through music the Tuareg people created poetry of resistance. Using Google, Festival of the Desert will be organised and advertised through its search engine. It will showcase Tuareg music within a desert setting, in the UK. Tuareg musicians will perform at the festival and all proceeds will go to Tuareg Relief. Helping the Tuareg community’s ability to live securely with sustainable livelihoods.
